What is the FAFSA?
In order to receive financial aid for college, you must complete the FAFSA. FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. All federal grant and loan awards are determined by the FAFSA, and nearly all colleges use the FAFSA as the basis for their own financial aid awards.
When must I apply?
You need to complete your FAFSA by February 1st in order to qualify for the maximum amount of money possible and meet your TN Promise deadline. If your parent has not filed their taxes yet, they can complete the FAFSA using estimated amounts based on last year's tax income. Just remember that you MUST update your FAFSA once taxes have been filed.
